The transcription factor TaLAX1 interacts with Q to antagonistically regulate grain threshability and spike morphogenesis in bread wheat

چکیده

The domestication gene Q is largely responsible for the widespread cultivation of wheat because it confers multiple traits. However, underlying molecular mechanisms how regulates these traits remain unclear. In this study, we identify a Q-interacting protein TaLAX1, basic helix–loop–helix transcription factor, through yeast two-hybrid assays. Using biochemical and genetic approaches, explore roles TaLAX1 in regulating Overexpression produces phenotypes, reminiscent q allele; loss-of-function Talax1 mutations confer compact spikes, similar to Q-overexpression lines. two factors disturb each other’s activity antagonistically regulate expression lignin biosynthesis-related TaKNAT7-4D. More interestingly, natural variation (InDel, +/? TATA), which occurs promoter associated with difference between D subgenome bread its ancestor Aegilops tauschii accession T093. This study reveals that factor physically interacts TATA) diversification activity.

microRNA172 plays a crucial role in wheat spike morphogenesis and grain threshability

Wheat domestication from wild species involved mutations in the Q gene. The q allele (wild wheats) is associated with elongated spikes and hulled grains, whereas the mutant Q allele (domesticated wheats) confers subcompact spikes and free-threshing grains. Previous studies showed that Q encodes an AP2-like transcription factor, but the causal polymorphism of the domestication traits remained un...

Study of MYB Transcription Factor Gene Expression in Some Bread Wheat Cultivars of Sistan Region, Iran

Drought, an abiotic stress, considered as one of the factors limiting food resources. The plant responses to adaptive to such a condition are accompanied with changes in the expression pattern of some functional as well as regulatory genes. The MYB proteins include a big family of transcription factors which are highly important in regulating development process and immunizing responses of plan...

Pleiohomeotic Interacts with the Core Transcription Elongation Factor Spt5 to Regulate Gene Expression in Drosophila

The early elongation checkpoint regulated by Positive Transcription Elongation Factor b (P-TEFb) is a critical control point for the expression of many genes. Spt5 interacts directly with RNA polymerase II and has an essential role in establishing this checkpoint, and also for further transcript elongation. Here we demonstrate that Drosophila Spt5 interacts both physically and genetically with ...

Thyroid transcription factor FOXE1 interacts with ETS factor ELK1 to co-regulate TERT

BACKGROUND Although FOXE1 was initially recognized for its role in thyroid organogenesis, more recently a strong association has been identified between the FOXE1 locus and thyroid cancer. The role of FOXE1 in adult thyroid, and in particular regarding cancer risk, has not been well established. We hypothesised that discovering key FOXE1 transcriptional partners would in turn identify regulator...
